MJI33 Torque and Tension Wind Hydraulically Torque & Tension Wind Turbine Bolted Connections

Course Objectives

• Demonstrate compliance with health and safety requirements and approved working practices
• Understand the quality control systems and procedures to be employed during the dismantling, preparation and securing of bolted connection systems
• Prepare work areas, equipment and materials for the dismantling, preparation and securing of bolted connection systems
• Prepare work areas, equipment and materials for the dismantling, preparation and securing of bolted connection systems
• Remove and replace components relating to hand torque bolted connection systems
• Assemble, secure and tighten hand torque bolted connections
• Verify the integrity of the assembled joint
• Reinstate the work area, equipment and materials

The MJI 33 Hydraulically Tensioned and Torqued Wind Turbine Bolted Connections course package is desirable for anyone currently with or aspiring to have a career in the Wind Energy sector.

Course Content

The new technical training standards and 4 Stage Mechanical Joint Integrity Training and Competency Model by ECITB:

Stage 1

Trained and validated against ECITB Technical Training Standards

MJI31 – Hydraulically Tensioned Wind Turbine Bolted Connections

MJI32 – Hydraulically Torqued Wind Turbine Bolted Connections

Stage 2

Work based task assignment (practice/consolidation of learning)

All new workers must complete a minimum of 3 tasks in the area they wish to take the MJI technical test in.

The work based task assignment is carried out under supervision

Stage 3

ECITB Technical Tests  (3 year validity)

TMJI 31 – Dismantle, Assemble and Tensioning Wind Turbine Bolted Connections (Hydraulic Tensioning)

TMJI 32 – Dismantle, Assemble and Hydraulically Torque Wind Turbine Bolted Connections

Stage 4

Repeat tests every 3 years
