As part of Enerpac Tool Group, HTL Group’s Headquarters based in the North East of England, Cramlington, has received a substantial two-million-pound facility upgrade. With state-of-the-art machinery and offices, the upgraded facility will be operating as Enerpac Tool Group’s Bolting Centre of Excellence. During this exciting transition, following the acquisition of HTL Group by Enerpac Tool Group in January 2020, the Enerpac Morpeth team will move into the new Bolting Centre of Excellence with HTL Group on Nelson Park Industrial Estate.
The two-million-pound facility upgrade includes new office furniture and layout, but brand-new machining and manufacturing capabilities, alongside the traditional HTL Group business that supplies customers with rental, sale, service, repair calibration, and training of controlled bolting and joint integrity equipment.
With investment comes design engineering and manufacturing excellence. The new state-of-the-art Engineering and Design offices are equipped with 3D printers and an Electric Static Discharge Laboratory. The Engineering Research and Development Laboratory will provide Engineers with invaluable knowledge and insight that leads to innovations and continuous product development. Becoming the Boltin Centre of Excellence means that Enerpac and HTL Group will be able to provide customers with the most up-to-date bolting technologies that have been designed and manufactured in the North East of England.
The investment at the Cramlington facility has been focused on manufacturing automation. The addition of computer-controlled CNC milling machines, alongside many other innovative, high-precision manufacturing machines, such as DMG Mori Machines, will provide maximum productivity. It is also benefitting customers across Great Britain with the continued local supply of controlled bolting tools that are made using the most up-to-date machines and technologies.
With half of the facility becoming dedicated to the in-house manufacturing of the well-known, premium-quality Enerpac hydraulic torque wrenches and tensioners, it continues to support HTL Group’s industry-leading controlled bolting business too. Furthermore, HTL Group will continue to provide customers with their unrivalled customer support. With decades of experience within the industry
HTL Group’s capabilities also include a strong rental business as well as calibration, repair, and training services. The acquisition of HTL and the investment at the Cramlington facility is aligned with Enerpac Tool Group’s strategy in becoming a pure-play Tools and Services company and expands its portfolio of bolting products and its global rental offering.
The doors will soon be opened to the UK’s Bolting Centre of Excellence.
